Karen's Custom Fit
Karen's Custom Fit is the parent company to Pioneer Designs and Princess Nighties. Karen's Custom Fit is dedicated to making quality, custom-made pioneer period clothing. From work dresses to day dresses to ball and wedding dresses for women and girls. Daily pioneer wear for men and boys. Care is taken to make all projects as authentic as possible.
We offer two different levels of period clothing. Our first level of clothing is period authentic, using period construction techniques and only straight machine stitching. The clothing is lined and boned appropriately. This line of clothing is for the serious period re-enactor and is priced accordingly. The pictures shown are just samples. We can make your project to suit your personal taste and needs. Prices vary with fabric choices.
Our next level of clothing is costume quality. From the outside it has the appearance of period clothing. The seams are piped and the design lines are that of a period garment. The inside is sewn using quick modern sewing techniques. This clothing is priced in the mid range.
The clothing pictured on this tab are one of a kind samples of our work with the exception of the temple dress.

- • LDS Church Museum of History and Art
We are working on a project with the LDS Museum of History and Art where we will be making 23 unique and custom period day dresses. The time period that we will be covering is from 1847 to 1869. Check back to see new dresses as we add them to our portfolio
- • Nauvoo Missionary Clothing
Missionaries serving in the Nauvoo mission are required to adhere to some fairly strict guidelines. If you have been called to serve in the Nauvoo Mission, you need to obtain the patterns for your clothing from the Sewing Room at the mission. Fittings are required, so it is best if you live in close proximity to Salt Lake City, Utah. This section will show you some of the examples of the Nauvoo clothing that I have made using their patterns.
