Detailed Information
This dress is from 1837. It is a day dress with a berthe(the fancy collar around the neck.) It has six pieces across the front of the bodice. The skirt is cartridge pleated into a gross grain ribbon waistband. There is piping throughout the seams in the bodice. Smocking has been done to accent the band on the sleeve. Smocking is not included in the price. The sleeves are very full below the band. In the photo they appear inappropriately long.
